MASSEY 555 MAINTENACE

Hello I just purchased a Massey 555 year ? and I need to change rear end oil and service the hyraulics. I was wondering where the fill and check
is for both of these. Also the quanity and type of oil needed for this tractor. Thank you for any information and it is appreciated. I am happy

the fill plug i believe is the breather on the top cover . use 80-90 gear oil. in the hydraulics you can use any hydraulic oil unless you are sharing implements with other tractors that use hytran. if so use hytran oil.
 
it should have a plug on the side of the rear end housing and that is the oil level it will be a little lower the the rear axles if you over fill you will have oil running out of the axle seals and the front input shaft DO NOT over fill
 
Plug is on right hand side, behind and below belt pulley. Some had a hydraulic filter, change when you flush and refill the front tank. 555 were built from 1956 to 1958 and almost identical to the earlier 55 series. Parts are getting scarce. Ben
