Between 1 o'clock Friday afternoon and 5:30 Saturday afternoon,I raked 45 acres of hay and baled 276 round bales.
I went out at 1 Friday, had 21 acres raked by 3,headed out at 3:30 with the baler. I stopped for supper for 45 minutes and had that 21 acres baled by 8:45,135 bales.
Yesterday I started raking at 9:30,had 24 acres raked by noon. I went out at 1 and started baling, was done at 5:25,another 141 bales.
It was about all I could do to raise a fork to my mouth to eat supper. I had to take a nap before I even went out and checked cattle last night.
On the bright side,I've only got about 90 acres to cut yet.

I feel the same way some times. Wife says sell everything, I say nope still having fun.

It was fun for about the first hour. I was having a great time baling with that 2-105 for the first time. It's a super nice haying tractor. It didn't take all that long for the novelty to wear off and for it to turn in to baling hay again though.

You did good
Growing up in the 50's we raised about that many acres a year on our farm. We started cutting first cutting Memorial weekend and hoped to be done by the fourth with the first cutting.
Later on in the sixties I remember the neighbor getting his JD baler with a thrower. He would bale and my brothers and I would unload and do a 1000 small squares a day. He only had 2 thrower wagons. Later on another neighbor had 16 thrower wagons he would fill. Then spend for ever and a day unloading them. Now his son is a one man show and does the big round bales. Never counted but I've watched him bale allot of hay in a day and have everything stacked in a big hoop barn by nightfall. Times sure have changed.

What was the weight of the bales? Trying to get an idea of yields up there. Was it average or above average?

They're supposed to be 1200 pound bales, but the few that I've actually weighed were around 900. These were older seedings,a lot of orchard grass with failing alfalfa. The yield is up considerably from last year.
Four acres of the 24 from Saturday is on the same farm as the 21 acres I raked and baled Friday. There ended up being 162 on that farm total. There were 122 on that place last year. The other 20 acres where there was 113 bales,I'd have to go look at my note pad in the 2-135,but I think there was about 102 or so on that one last year.
Good thing yield is up because after a wet month of May so it was tough getting corn in,it's dried right up to the point of getting scary. If it doesn't rain pretty soon to keep the pastures going,I'll be feeding dry hay by late July.

It sounds like you where a busy fellow. LOL I am glad your hay is yielding well. Ours here(North-East Iowa) seems about average. The last cold spell really hurt the alfalfa in places. As for the White 2-105 they are a nice baling tractor. The three speed hydra shift works well. I bales with my Oliver 1655 for years. I liked to drop the tractor into under right as the round bales where finishing. That extra turns on the bale while finishing makes areal tight bale.

PS Did you use the exercise machine on those days???

PS Did you use the exercise machine on those days???

Yes I did. Almost 5 months now and I haven't missed a day yet. Memorial Day,I wanted to get out of here to get to the flea market,so I didn't do it in the morning, but after walking around there for four hours,I got on it for 15 minutes before I got in the shower that night.
I like to get it out of the way in the morning so I don't have to dread the thought of it all day.

Did you get one yet?

Been too lazy to get one. LOL I really need to as I can feel how I am getting out of shape not doing as many chores this last year or so. I had to climb the silo last week and had to take several "rest" breaks.

What I find funny is that I can lift about as much as I ever could. I get winded fast but can still lift OK. My sons are not as large of fellows as me. They can go without being winded but can't lift as much as I can, even with me being an old man. The only thing I can think of is stacking feed all during my teen years developed my shoulders and such more than theirs are.

Are you real dry there after a pretty wet early spring??? Some fellows having corn/bean emergence issues in your area.

It'll change your life if you get started and commit to it. I never felt better in my life. When I was younger, milking cows in a stanchion barn,my back was so bad that there were days,I had to crawl around on my hands and knees. Later on it was my shoulders and knees. It's tightened up my joints so the knees and shoulders are good now. My back was killing me for a week the second week after I started using that thing, but it strengthened the back muscles. I shoveled two loads of ear corn to grind two loads of feed a few weeks ago and all it did to me was made me sweat a little. I wasn't even winded.

But ya,it was a cold wet spring. Corn that went in early in cold wet ground had compaction and is a little spotty. There was about a ten day to two week window where the corn looks excellent if it went in then. Now the last of it that went in after Memorial Day seems a little spotty again. It popped right up where there was good moisture, not quite so quick on the lighter, drier ground.
