a/c problem solved

the other day I posted a question about a problem with an a/c system that I couldn't get to work, after reading the replies I went back to it and found even though everything was plumbed up right not realizing the aftermarket condenser would fit either direction my helper had installed the condenser upside down, causing the same effect as crossing the lines,I would like to know why it caused the problem because even though it was upside down the compressor high side line was connected to the top and the orifice tube line was connected to the bottom, thanks for the replies.

You had a restriction on the high side.

I use to do all the AC work for a couple local body shops I had seen the lines crossed before.. Its a EZ mistake to make.

I don't see how it could have been hooked up upside down but if you say so then it must be possible. Just be happy none of the line fittings were sized..

it can be installed either direction,he just turned the lines a little thinking because it was and aftermarket unit the fittings just didn't line up right and was able to connect them, sure had me going as to what was wrong.
