Finally warmed up enough to start painting the tractor yesterday. I had to strip the chasis down to bare bones to get paint on all of the tractor. Lots of body parts make up the operators platform, which the factory cab bolts to.
I have used 5qts. of power red CNH paint and need another to finish the details.
Then onto the paint on the cab and all the sheet metal. Probably over another gal of Desert Sunset paint needed there, plus the silver for the rims. I will have $500 invested in paint and decals. Decals are comeing from Maple Hunters.
Tomarrow I will put the operator platform back together, Install the wireing harnasses that I have totally rebuilt, and make another run to buy more paint, and some shinney new bolts to put in all the holes.

Now that's a nut and bolt restoration! I have my eye on a 930 Case nearby, has been used only as a snowblower tractor in a small yard for at least ten years. Lots of "collectables" in the yard, and, maybe with a bit of persuasion, the JD's in the shed may have a new companion... .

Looks pretty good!

I have done 3 in the last couple years and understand how much work it is to tear one down to get a good paint job on it. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

They always look better when you get all the trim and decals back on don't they? The contrast makes them look like a tractor again.

Nice job.

Looking good. I've always like the looks of the 30 series. One of these days I'm going to stumble across one that's priced to the point I can't walk away from it. The only thing that saved me a couple of years ago was the fact that I didn't have the check book with me. Nice open station 830 with good rubber and a loader. Only thing wrong with it is that it was a gasser. When it sold at auction for 1750 I about cried!

Looks good. Keep us posted on the progress. To make over spray clean up easier wet down the floor really good with water and re-wet between coats. When it's all dry you can sweep it up with a broom.
Great job though. She will look new when you are done.

that paint booth looks a lot like mine, i'm working on a T-bucket right now,.....the tractor looks great...........JIM

Sure is going to be nice when finished. I have never driven a Case but always thought the 830,930 and 1030 were a very nice looking tractor. Once at a sale they had a 830 narrow front and I really liked the look of that. Thanks for posting Tom

Hate to use it looking that nice

In the bad oil / grease areas, how did you clean them ..... sand blast, cleaner, swab down with diesel ????

Look forward to the finished product

I spent 3 days with a pressure washer, wire brush, putty knife and a spritzer with Purple Power comercial degreaser. Sure wished that I had the steam cleaner that we had when we had the dealership.
