John Deere Model A hand clutch pops out

Tighten the clutch bolts under the cover on the belt pulley. GET A MANUAL AND DO IT AS INSTRUCTED. Do not set by guess.

when you pops out do you mean disengages if so then tighten clutch bolts a little at a time. clutch should snap when fully engaged but be easy to pop out to disengage

The clutch hub could be loose on the end of the crankshaft and/or is loose on the splines on the clutch end of the crankshaft. Also, the flywheel may be loose on the crankshaft and can move in and out as the clutch is engaged; there may be excessive end play on the crankshaft that loosens the clutch. Check those things before you start replacing parts.

dont see how it can pop out. if its not adjusted tighht enough it will slip under load. the lever will not pop back.
maybe it is adjusted too tight and is not fully engaging and pops out due to not snapping in. you should have a good push of about 70-80 lbs of force to engage it. and if it wont snap in then its too tight.
