John Deere 4440 AC

I took my John Deere 4440 out for the season and the AC was only blowing warm air. I bought it last season and they just replaced the ac compressor, updated it to the newer style, and charged it. It was very cold last season up until I put it away for the winter. Now it's not working at all just warm air. I was wondering if there was anything I could check before I send it back to the dealership. My neighbor said to check the cab air filter. Any other ideas would help. Thank you.

Refrigerant leak.. Most likely out of r134a or what ever it uses. You need a set of gauges to do it right.

thanks guys, it's a hay tractor so I need it to work. I guess I'll call the dealership and see what they say. I hope it doesn't cost anything to crazy.

My cousin had a 4040 like mine. The last year or so the he had it,the AC quit working. He'd had the dealer out there to work on it a few years before, seems like it was a low pressure switch or something. He retired and sold it to the guy who was renting his place. The guy took the hood off to take the pressure washer to it and found a wire unplugged. He plugged it in and the air went to working.

If it is the cab lines I always primer and repaint the new ones hopefully they will last longer

I had a 4430 and 4240, that each one, the cab lines rotted out at about 12-13 years of age. Nothing yet on the "83 4450.

so I have an appointment to get the AC recharged to 4lbs. It's going to cost me $80 and then they said to bring it back in a week and they will check for leaks.

Yes as the others said probably a leak,, I have been changing "all" the lines when they come in here ,,money well spent,,changing one line at a time is like cutting the puppy dogs tail off a little at a time so it won't hurt so much,,but make sure you have power to the compressor, it's the Yellow wire routed out the top of the engine and down on the right side of the front of the radiator, they get pinched where they come out past the lower left of the radiator, I re route them under the radiator, it should have power when the fans are running and the cold switch is on..look for dust sticking to oily spots where a leak could be...

So there's a twist. I brought the ac to be regarded and they said it was full and no leaks. So the mechanic tested everything and said it had a bad pressure sensor
