I got a flat today,,,was on a slope, got it to level ground,,was deciding what to do and my friend called. He was on the way to his cabin which is 4 miles from our place. He had a friend with him,,,he said get the jack ready,we will be right there!

Now I must explain, the old farm where I keep the tractor is not connected to where the houses are,its a block away.I leave my truck there and drive the tractor to mow.Now I must take a walk to get the truck and jack. As i am walking the phone rings. It was Old from here on the tractor site, calling all the way from Missouri! We had a nice talk while I was walking. As I was walking the farmer was planting. I told Old when I get to the top of the hill I m gonna take pictures and post where I was while talking with him.Heres the hill as I got to the top.

I backed up to the bank and we rolled the tire onto my truck. My brother said he will help me fix it ,and my nephew said he has a spare wheel and tire if I need it.

Larry, I don't have the strength to attempt to take a tire off the rim. I would have
used the terramite to put the tire in the truck.

A tire place 30 minutes away is cheap and experienced working on tractor tires. They
Cleaned up the mess inside the rear tire on the terramite. Removed the tube, Removed 5
plugs, put patches inside tire. Use right angle grinder with wire brush to clean rust
off rim. Put bead seal on rim. Put in a new valve stem. Pumped slime in tire. And I
shouldn't have to worry about flats until I cut the side wall. A tire that size cost
me $48 to fix. It took them 30 minutes to repair. total 90 minutes. And I was feeling
no pain.

Previously I spent $30 for a tube. It lasted a month before going flat.

I agree that looks like a handy size machine geo! I have a 210C Deere loader backhoe that did most lifting and handling until I got my little Daewoo mini excavator, at just 5ft wide and easy to get on and off it's become the most used machine, as a shop crane, loading and unloading things, moving firewood and logs, picking rocks big and small, and even some digging lol. The versatility and handy factor of small machines is amazing

Well if your where closer you could use my air power truck tire bead breaker and it will break one down pretty dare fast and easy

Nice looking place. Unless the tire is cut it shouldn't be too bad of a repair. Is it a tube tire or tubeless? I don't know anything about the Ford machines of that vintage. If tubeless a plug may do the trick. Tube type it needs broke down to fix it. Sucks. Some break down easy and some are a fight. The bigger they are the easier in most cases to a limit. Keep us posted.

Larry,
I've always wanted a backhoe for a long time too. When I turned 59 I bought my first for my Birthday. Figured no one else would. Really didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I wanted one. Like a few other things I bought, I found out how nice they are. I find many uses for the little guy. What makes it sweeter is getting a second one so I no longer have to transport it to the other end of the county.

I'm into landscaping which means I always need good dirt. That means I need wood chips and an active mulch pile. I have mulch piles at both locatons that need mixed up. There aren't too many days I not using them. Some days I use both of them. My first one is only 4 ft wide, the other one is 5 ft wide, a little more stable.

Soon I'll show you another way how I use it. This is a real time saver, not to mention I get to set in the seat and watch it make short work out of an annual task.

Back to your flat. I use my terramites to do everything, including taking down buildings. Which means there aren't too many tires that haven't been repaired at least once. One time I was working moving wood. Saw a board on the ground I just ran over and then backover. Yep the same nail got me twice. Holes were 2 inches apart. Some how I missed the front tire and got the back one. At the time I was helping a neighbor take down his mother's greenhouse and chicken coop. She is in the nursing home and he needed to clean up the property to sell it. It took me 2 hours. The guy said it would have taken him 2 days to do the job with his bobcat. He has a real nice cat too.

Tubes won't work for me. Hoping slime will.

geo.

Glad you have the help. When something like that happens to me, I head for the jack, and back to the tractor, and start the tire, and rim removal by myself. Stan

agreed-- Nice looking place, nice and handy tractor, sorry about the flat. good luck getting her fixed.

Old, when I was younger I did everything. Now I enjoy watching others do it. Doesn't hurt as much grabbing for my wallet.

Well as I have gotten older I have learn to do things smarter not harder and the truck tire bead breaker work nice an easy and fast plus it is the correct tool for the job
