Update: Need AC information

I ended up taking the 2012 Buick Enclave back to the repair shop where I had a charge put on it a few days ago. It would still not cool at low speeds but was ok t 50 mph or higher. I did not want to get stuck in a traffic jam without AC. He had put refrigerant in with a dye in it and there was a leak at the rear ac coils. So I did have a leak. So I am headed home with my wallet quite a bit lighter, but at least we are cool.
Thanks for all the replies, The engine temps were steady and the fans were kicking on, so it almost had to be a leak as someone had suggested.

Wasn't much of a shop if they injected NASTY dye into the system instead of simply using an electronic leak detector.

we do a/c work here at the shop, and have both sniffers and use dye. a typical dye shot is about 1/8 of one ounce of dye. the old r12 systems used mineral oil as a compressor lube, the r134 system uses pag oil, so a leak is harder to dected because the oil doesnt stain. heres a link to some a/c leak detection info
poke here

Nothing wrong with dye in the new systems, I had a volvo truck that had it put in at the factory. The problem is with the leak sealer. it gums up the system.

Bryan its rare I use dye anymore for the simple reason if it inconveniences the customer that much that he can not leave the car with me to find the leak he can take it somewhere else...

Even for the hard to find leaks one of these will find the leak if I am given the time 99% of the time...

Its so good I brought a spare just encase one failed......

That being said I had poor luck with electronic leak detectors till I brought a Yokogawa H-10PM ( 4 to $500 range) I did not think it could get any better then I tried the TEK-Mate. I have had systems that were dyed for the most part dye is a line of sight identifier if you can not see the leak it will not find it...

The only issue I have had with the Tec-Mate is it can be too sensitive when there is a large leak in those cases I fall back on the Yokogawa.
