blowing fuses belarus tractors.

My Belarus had the same fuse problem. I replaced both 80 amp fuses and she was ok. But my auto electrician was unable to find why. Hugh.

There's so many places where the wiring harness is hidden there's no way to visually inspect it all.

Most mechanics don't want to work on wiring problems. They'll just stand 10' back from the tractor, scratch their head and say, "Hmm, I got no idea what the problem is," and charge you $250 for a service call.

Eighty amp fuses are BIG fuses!

What do they power?

A short that would take out fuses that size should not be too difficult to find.

Wondering if the alternator is charging through them. If they failed after starting with a low battery, that could explain it.

That's because they lose money on every wiring job they work on. You never, ever get your labor out of wiring jobs, be it tractors, autos, ATV's or whatever you care to name.

One of the field changes on the IH 2+2 tractors was to add two large fuses into wiring harness. One carried the alternator output and other accessories. Those middle wire and hose pincher pivots got a few tractors I guess. I had to convert about six or eight of them.
