Depressing thought

Spring work is done. It's been unusually dry here in central NY, which is good. It just got warm enough that I took the door and window off the backhoe cab. (I learned the hard way, that although I thought I could, I can't be watching the door and window sticking out in the open while working.) So, they're either closed, or off. I got to thinking about how long they would be off. There will probably be some raw enough days that by the end of Sep./early Oct. they'll be back on. FOUR months!! Not even half of a year. That's depressing.

When I got to my first base in Germany ( March or April 1967). I had a guy showing me around the base, while walking across the parade field in 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water, I asked him how the Summers were there. His reply was " They are GREAT! except last year I had KP that day and missed it."

Some things you just don't forget, joe

even more depressing...snow...say snow 6 months of the year.
70 years old....35 years of fighting snow...ugh

oh BTW...cold...When I was working I rode my motorcycle to work...every day..rain or shine...in our 'warm' seasons.
Believe me...you ain't safe in June or September either.

At least you are honest....most ny'ers I call Weather Excusers.
They always come up with that pretty seasons or such baloney.
wny weather...filter won't allow the words...
