1936 McCormick Deereing O 12 tractor

This is what we got for the money. One 1936 McCormick Deering O 12 and a set of disc. Question the tractor has a down draft carburetor. Then it looks like it has a fuel pump on it. I see where the gasoline line goes up to where there is a T one looks like it goes back in to the tank and the other one feeds to the carburetor. My question is that did some body modify this tractor to burn gasoline? The person we bought it from said to mix some Marvins mistery oil and some lead mix with the gasoline that goes in the tank.

It looks like it was originally a petrol tractor from new, when they are set up for kerosene a small petrol tank for starting is set in to the top of the bonnet, and the big main tank in front of the steering wheel was used for the main fuel, if your starting tank had been removed you would have a dirty great big hole there.
If you google some photos of W12 tractors you will see what I mean.
Hope this helps, Richard.
p.s. That tractor looks like a nice find!

Brent, Most of what has been changed can be found if you want to put it back to Original.
Carb and breather top, fuel filter up top, also linkage to govenor was enclosed when new.
It looks like exhaust has been altered a few times. oldiron29

From the looks of the front of the tank, that looks like a factory fitting. That may have been an anti vapor lock device, keep cool, liquid fuel flowing through the lines.
