I picked up this Worthington F5 over the weekend. Not running, but the engine isn't stuck. It would have had 5 (or optional 7) gang mowers mounted to it when in use. Mowers are gone but I got the brackets for them. I need to put a battery tray and air cleaner back in it and rewire everything. This has the 134ci Ford NAA or 600 engine so engine parts aren't a problem. The clutch works, steering is actually pretty tight and the transmission seems to shift good. Production serial numbers run from 575 through 639 so they didn't make very many of these and I found this one only 10 miles from my house. Hopefully I can get it running for our local show in July.

Never saw one of these with that configuration. More weight on the drive wheels, even has pie shaped weights too. 134/172 ford are good engines that parts are not scarce for, yet LOL !

Yep, it's rear steer. Made it interesting loading on the trailer. You think you should steer to right to line up to the rear wheels with the ramps and the rear end swings left!

The F-5 and F-8 were earlier versions of the F-10, which I have only ever seen with the Jacobsen badge in the fifties. I used to run around with a F-8 with no mowers, just used it as a tractor. Came with 5 30" mower units. F-10 had 7. with an optional 9 unit configuration. These mowers had partial steering on the in-board mower units,(all trailed except the wing units). In its day the F-10 mower was as good as it got for golf course fairways. But they were very heavy, and the mower units were ground driven which took a lot of traction. They were hard to keep from spinning the wheels. Jake came out with a hydraulic driven mower unit I think in the late 70's. I believe it was called a HF-10. The F-10 was also available with a Perkins diesel in the early 80's. One of the rarest would be the Jacobsen E-10. Same configuration, except that the axles were switched around. Drove from the rear, steered from the front. This was offered to compete with the Toro Parkmaster, its competitor of the day.

How much will you sell it for?

I dealt with a F-10 the first season at the golf course, it went away the first winter I was happy until I had to deal with the Roseman that replaced it. What's a Roseman you ask? It's a Ford 3000 series Ag tractor with 7 hydraulically driven reel mowers draped off of it with a big old hydraulic PTO pump and tanks tucked in the back. Think of it as leaks on the hoof, by the way turf grass doesn't care much for hot oil to be dripped/sprayed on it so it dies.

Same here. The Roseman came in 1976 on a Massey tractor. What a boat anchor. We did keep the tractor though. Drove it yesterday actually. Roseman never worked right from day one.

It's interesting the evolution of this model through the years. The first 'F' model came out in 1949 using the Ford 8N hood and engine. I always wondered how the N engine did for power hauling around all those ground driven mowers.
I just bought this one so not selling at this point. I have no idea what these would be worth as I have never found another one for sale.
