I just put the oil ring set in the bore, the two thin rings fit well but the center part of the set has no gap, it falls through the cylinder. Is that the way it should fit on the piston? Smokey

smokey37 ,No it should have tension on the rind when placed in the bore, then one spacer rail goes on top and one on the bottom. That is with a 3 piece oil ring.

OK, I don't have to file the end gap. Rechecked the gap they are .012 to .013 clearance. these are new parts kit from YT. I need to feel better about the oil ring fit. It looks like the center ring, IF THATS WHAT YOU CALL IT,just rides in the center of the oil rings. Is it a wiper or what?
