Shawnee Loader fluid?

I have a Shawnee loader on my IH 300U tractor and I am changing out the hydraulic fluid. The pump mounts on the front crankshaft, so is a closed system. Anyone know if combo Transmission / hydraulic fluid is the right thing to use here? Also, there is a screen in the return line but I know of no filter anywhere. Any ideas on that? Nice work for a rainy day.

That'll work,but a cheaper hydraulic fluid will work just as well. Just get the stuff that doesn't say it's the equivalent of Hy Tran or Hy Guard. It'll save you money.

R&O hydralic fluid,or any plain 'hydralic' oil is fine. No need for "HiTran" or similar Hi dollar fluid.

I use the 303 UTF type load in loader set ups like that. If you have an Orscheln's in your area they have it on sale right now for $19.99 for 5 gal
