Something rare on Craigslist.

they are pretty rare.that one looks like it is based on a model 68 baler. some used cockshutt narrow front ends, that is not one of them though.

They are rare around here, but this one comes to our local show.

I know nothing about baling hay
but why wouldn't self propelled
balers be common?
Ron

I haven't seen that many NH self propelled balers. There are a lot of Freeman self propelled balers here. You can bale faster than a tractor puyll because turns are shorter.

Because they came out without cabs. Look where you are sitting and think of the dust......

The. They added a cab, but they didnt have air conditioning. Think of the time of year and the common hay making temps.....

By the time a dust free and working air conditioner cab came out, balers took a fair amount of hp, and the farmer already had a paid for 100hp cab tractor with air conditioning, why pay for all that again when you already have the tractor......

i sure would not want to sit on that thing in a hot dusty day! no wonder there is only a few.

I have one like it only with much better paint, and no bale thrower. I would sell mine for that price. It takes two men on the wagon to keep up to it.

That was my bailer up til last fall. I used it a couple times. It worked good. But! like I told the ol"lady, It would be a
lot nicer if you could bale in the winter, gets kinda warm in the seat. Here's a picture of it when I first got it. That's
my daughter driving it around in the back yard. It just sat in the garage for the last 15 years. I sold it to him for twice
what I paid for it. Looks like he's trying to do the same.

Would love to have one to play with in my hay fields but I can think of other things I'd sooner have for $8500. I also don't have the time to keep two Wisconsin engines in good running shape. I can remember my dad had a baler with a Wisconsin motor that they would not shut off during lunch as it was hard to start if hot. Had to be really hot and dusty if you were baling into the wind on a 100 degree day in Texas.
