A few weeks ago I wrote about my wife shooting some clay pigeons. She mentioned that she missed shooting shotgun. Also she talked about how she loved the "feel" of her Dad's Benelli shot gun. So I got in contact with a gun nut buddy of mine that is a gun smith. He makes his living buying and selling guns of all kinds. I bought her a matched pair of Benelli 20 gauge pump action shotguns. She has an older Remington 1100 16 gauge she had "sized" to her so I took it for him to measure and make the new shotguns to match it. I also got a hold of all the Grand Daughters. They have scheduled time at a local range this Sunday afternoon. Women only. LOL

The wife just about deafened me when she opened the box the guns came in. She can squeal like the teenage girls still. LOL She had to shoot them some. Even thought it is rainy this evening she stood in the shed door way with me hand throwing some clays out into the pasture. She sure did not miss anything after the first few throws. She has them both apart on the kitchen table cleaning them and oiling them up to her standards. Also the Grand Daughters all had to come see them too. LOL

I bought her two cases of ammo thinking that would last her awhile. I was wrong, as usual. She just ordered more from my friend. She is going to get it tomorrow.

I might have created a monster!!!!! They are already talking about some summer "skeet" meets they may enter.

JD SELLERS good for you I think its time for you to arm your self with a good shot gun and you and your wife can enjoy some good times together. My wife likes to shoot hand guns and so do I and I like to reload also so we shoot just about every day that the weather permits. shootings fun but its a lot more fun when you can do it together Randy

Good for you. when my 2 boys and 1 girl started shooting in the 90,s I put in a trap range. its the beast thing I ever did. now the grand son will be using it soon. Bob

I had a 12ga and a 20ga over and under same make. 20 ga. kicked harder than the 12 so I got rid of the 20 ! Semi auto would of been a better choice than a pump. Would of been easier on the shoulder.

Last week I took my wife to a 100 yd 22 cal target match. Let her use a rifle I was thinking of selling. She's hooked and now looks like we're keeping the rifle and maybe putting more money into it.

I gave my wife a Remington 1100 for her birthday before we were married. Got her started trapshooting on a league I had been a member for years. Got started shooting registered targets and we both made the Minn. state team in the 70's. One of those years(memory problems) she was second high average score in ladies handicap in the nation. She also was the first lady to win the Old Dutch handicap at Prior Lake Mn.Much proud of her--good farm girl and is a REALLY good cook!!!

If your wife thinks shooting clays is fun, she should try cowboy (& cowgirl) action shooting. You get to pick an alias, wear 1880 period clothes, shoot 1880 period guns. See the link below

They have different barrels. Some ranges have different lengths of shooting lanes. She can switch guns easier than barrels.

I want to get my twin girls into target shooting this year. Guys have nothing on women when it comes to accuracy. Annie Oakley was apparently an amazing shot back in her day.

That's great!! It sounds like maybe you should get a reloading setup and get her (and the girls) started in "rolling their own".

Apparently, as a nation, we have already forfeited the rule of law under zero's stewardship of the constitutional duties of the office of President so I doubt I will be obeying any of Hitlary's edicts.
