The post concerning the chevy red 49 truck got me to thinking about my first truck. First off i was raised a city boy and there had never been a truck in our family. One day while passing the local Pontiac dealer i saw a 1953 Chevy Advance Design 1/2 ton pickup for $200 and so in 1968 at the age of 21 i became the proud owner of that truck and it was my daily driver for almost 3 years. i drove it 40 miles round trip to work for 2 years and when transferred i drove it from NW Al to central Ky. and drove it another 40 mile trip to work for 6 months before it failed me. Living in an apartment in Jan. with no place to work on i traded it in on a sedan to get me through the winter. It was another year before i was back in a truck and have been ever since.
in 1996 i was able to purchase this 1952 chevy from the original owners son. It had been stored in a barn for 17 years. It runs good with 109k miles on the original engine
