(quoted from post at 03:02:55 04/28/16) I don't remember the turn signals like those, on our 52.
SDE

Turn signals were not standard equipment on the older trucks. If it HAD turn signals, someone added them.

That's a nice looking truck, years ago I had the opportunity to get grandpa's 49 chevy 5 window. I didn't want it (wanted dad's 69 dodge) and after grandpa passed my cousin got it. Turned out for the best, he fixes it up and didn't spare a dime. Now he has a really impressive truck we are all proud od.

Memories. Ours was dark blue and what I learned to drive on. Those 17" tires were heavy to change when you had one blow. Ours had the back quarter windows. Traded off in 76 when body was falling apart and could no longer get brake parts.

That's a good looking old chevy. I learned to drive on a 48 1 ton. My dad bought it new when he graduated HS. He added the turn signals soon after he bought it. The turn signals on yours look like the ones that were on the 70-80's medium duty.

This one has 15 inch tires and checking the Shop Manual it was available from the factory with 15 inch or 17 inch tires.

Not wanting to hi-jack this thread but does anyone remember these, I can it was on a Ford Model AA truck that was 60 years ago had a lever in the cab with cable attached to operate it worked like the old arm signal from back then.

I have something similar that was made by Furan Manufacturing in Thief River Falls, Mn. It has a hand with the index finger pointing. It is in a box set for mailing. The box has a picture of the signaling device on a car similar ro a Model A.
