The past several years, I usually planted Peaches and Cream sweetcorn from the local seed dealer, and really like it.
I have heard a lot of people talk about Ambrosia Sweet Corn. While on vacation in Maryland, went to an Amish store
where they had an 8oz bag for $7.00, so bought a bag of it to try. Think that is cheaper than what I pay at the
local seed dealer. Will still plant some Peaches and Cream. Using my 966 and JD7000 planter so this is tractor related.

I'm on eastern shore of Maryland. I have planted obsession for several years and my customers say it's the best they have ever eaten. It's a bi color like the peaches and cream but in a super sweet variety. Last year I tried obsession 2. And was pleased with the roundup trait so this year I switched to all obsession2.

I've planted Ambrosia Sweet Corn for the past three years and I like it. This year I bought 5 pounds of Ambrosia and am getting ready to plant some of it today.

I haven't planted anything except Silver Queen for several years. The other vareties such as Ambrosia and the other super sweets are too sweet for my taste. In fact, I'm going to plant some Pencil Cob field corn also. We like it for a change from sweet corn sometimes.

When we started out selling sweetcorn we planted a shrunken kernel variety and every year we would put another variety in as a trial to see if we could find a variety that was less expensive. Ambrosia and Peaches n' Cream brought customers back saying they wanted the "good stuff", so we gave up on planting anything else. Last year we were shipped 2lbs of silver queen instead of green bean seed...the vendor said to keep it. I planted a small field, big mistake....I had one customer that liked it...she was from Mexico. That stuff was the most tasteless corn I have ever had...other than the field corn we ate as a kid.

I'm on the lower shore, and I wouldn't tell my name for all the Silver Queen in the world. We always planted Early Sunglow and Golden Bantam, and had great results with both.

we plant the seminis obsession II corn. its round up ready and just put it on the headlands. produces really well, very sweet too. heres a link

Hi, I used to grow Jubilee but I tried some BODACIOUS
very happy with it, Big cobs, uniform and very nice flavor and sweetness. Ed Will Oliver BC

(quoted from post at 10:46:31 04/25/16) Up until about 5 years ago I liked silver queen and peaches and cream but started having a lot of trouble with smut. I switched to Kandy King and had good results with it in south central Kansas. I don't grow much, just enough for family and some neighbors.

I've planted Ambrosia and Bodacious and had good luck with it, big ears as I recall, but my wife got hung up on the Peaches/ Cream a few years ago so that's what I plant now.

I discovered Earl May "Incredible" sweet corn a couple of years ago. Nice, plump ears with sweet, tender kernels. Sweet enough that butter and salt is not needed.

I have been planting Ambrosia, I like it,,5 rows planted now but not up, will plant 5 more in a couple weeks.

I had always planted Silver Queen. About 4 years ago I tried Silver King and I won't go back to the Queen. I can sell about all the King I can grow.

(quoted from post at 15:38:21 04/25/16) $7.00 for 8 ounces equals $14 a pound. So 50 pounds is $700. Sounds like a racket to me. Guess I should start raising sweet corn seed.

That's cheap! I feel lucky to get mine for less than $30 a lb.....but then you usually get what you pay for. The cost of seed is small compared to the returns you get when you sell the best corn around and can set your price.

Incredible is very good sweet corn. It grows well, yields very well, and tastes great. It's also very easy to silk. I can't find corn any better. We've grown it for many years and try a new variety periodically. The new ones are never as good as Incredible. Keep your "two-toned" corn. I like this stuff better. Mike

I plant a hybrid called obsession 2. It a round up ready stack. It's easy to take care of and pesky bugs in the ear! But it's $380 for a 25k kernal bag.

I have planted it for several years and have customers that will only eat it. They say it's the best.

I've tried peaches and cream, Ambrose, and one other I can't think of right now. Keep coming back to bodacious. More tolerant of too wet or too dry, better yield, and very good flavor. Dang raccoons got more than I did last year.

Last year I put in 274A from Illinois Foundation Seed purchased from a local retailer. It's $25/lb but real good quality with strong stalks. I planted @ 20k population. Had folks comkng back again and again last year even after we had picked everything for the season. Got $5/doz selling along the road.

Yeah Fordfarmer, we feed the them Peaches N Cream around here. What really gets my goat is how there can be a few hundred acres of field corn and they'll still go straight for my little patch of the sweet stuff. It's almost not worth planting for what you get. My grand mother was the best gardener around -bar none- she use to say it was a waste of time to plant sweet corn, let the farmers grow it.
