2n rope seals

Hi Folks,
What's the feeling of putting a lite coat of "Great Stuff" made by Permatex, under the rope seals on oil pan and timing gear cover of my 2n? Good or bad ider? Thanks, Smokey 37.

I don't put anything directly under the rope. But you do need to seal between where the seal housing halves come together and where the seal housing meets the groove in the block.
