Horses April Fools

I know they have no idea about April Fool jokes but I laughed until my sides hurt when doing chores this morning.

In the little barn Kricket and Pepper both try to get the front stall to eat. Who ever gets there first, the other one goes to the back stall without a problem.

This morning Kricket was at the front stall and Pepper was still out in the pasture. The dish for the front stall was outside in front of the door and I was fishing for it with a hoe. Pepper came up to the entrance to the barn lot and stood watching. All of a sudden Pepper sprinted to the back stall, Kricket went over to see what was going on, he turned around and was watching me pull the dish toward me. Pepper dashed around him and into the front stall. Pepper stuck his head out the door as Kricket came up to the first door tossed his head up and down. Kricket walked slow bacK to the back stall. I had not seen one horse trick the other like that before. I was puzzled when Pepper was standing at the edge of the barn lot rather than coming up to be fed as usual.

We had a sheep once that was too smart. The problem was that often me or other family members were the victims of her pranks, and we usually were not amused. She was our daughter's first, and was somewhat of a pet, but her disruptions finally got to be too much and she went down the road to some friends who wanted her primarily as a pet.

No I don't think he planed it! He was looking for an opportunity get around Kricket. When he was in the barn and Kricket was not blocking the other door he saw another opportunity. As it came together it just looked like a trick. They are smart like a dog but don't really show the ability to plan those types of tricks.
