Street view maps

Didn't somebody post a link to something other than Google Earth that gave a street view of places? I was thinking I had it saved to favorites, but all I have is Google Earth. Does anybody know what the other one is?
I thought there was something like Local Live or some such thing, but I can't find it.
The Google car didn't go down the street where what I'm looking for is located. I know there's something else that exists. The township assessor showed me something that's back in the woods near me,so other pictures besides Google are out there.

It's not doing anything. Just gives me an aerial view. I clicked Birdseye and Streetside both. It won't rotate down. I'm trying to view a business in a small town, not something on the bottom of the ocean. Seems like it should exist somewhere.

What would I search? I searched for "Bigfoot maps" and all it did was give me maps of bigfoot sightings.

Well, that took me there, but it's the same picture I get everywhere else. It won't pan down for a street view. I held the cursor on the little man and dragged him out in the street. Still nothing.

This is what it said when I put in the address. "Sorry - No Street View picture found."

I guess in small towns, they just drive on through and don't take the side streets. I need something where a satellite took the picture I guess. Like I said, the assessor can pull up places in the woods.

So how do you get street view? I clicked and dragged the little man out in the street.

Did that. On Google Earth,it takes me down Main Street and the county road out of town, but not down the street where I want to go. The yellow line doesn't go there. When I click the little man on the other sites, nothing happens.

there also some areas, like mine that do not have a street view as nobody has made the pictures yet the farther west you go the less street views there are, some towns only the hiway thru it has the street view

Just do a search of "google street view" when the website comes up enter the address , I just did it a few days ago for an address.

Apparently Google takes all the pictures. On the site that JD John linked,I can put the little man at the main intersection in town. It's the same streetview picture as Google Earth and it takes me on the same two roads as Google Earth and no more. This is a small town in mid Michigan, you'd think they would have done more than just come in to town and turn the corner and keep going, but I guess that's all.

Every site I tried takes me there for an overhead view, but none have a streetview of it. It's not that important.

Don't know. I've go another one called Google Planimeter. You can measure parcels with that one.
The Google Maps thing is just something like a paper road map though isn't it? Google Earth is satellite photos.

lol !!! I was referring to your statement.

"The township assessor showed me something that's back in the woods near me"

I tried those links below on our farm and got mixed results. LatLong gave me an aerial view from last summer. Judging from the barn foundation progress I can tell you it was July 2015. Earth Scout gave me a lovely street view of the farmhouse. Problem is there is a FOR SALE sign on my farm. That sign has been gone for 7 years. Silo is still standing. Milk house doesn't even have a roof so no way is it a sauna yet. Based on everything I would put Earth Scout as being about a decade behind on photos.

Dragging the little dude out in the street worked for me, but once again the picture was about 10 years old.

Well I tried JD Johns Earth Scout and northeast pullers poke here and google maps and earth and they are all the same picture and about 7 or 8 yrs old or more.

There is no google street view of the road I live on. On google maps they have a system for showing which roads have street view and which do not, if I recall right the ones with street view are fatter lines on the map but only if you've been using street view or have clicked the button for it. I find it all rather confusing.

I said earlier to do a "google street view" search, sorry, www.instantstreetview.com is the correct site, shoot me an email if you have problems and I can email the link to you .

yup...same old 7-10 year old street view. You wouldn't believe the difference today. Makes me tired just looking at it.

I was curious so I went to the "instant street view" website to see what it showed. Mine is absolutely up to date. We added a low wall in front of our garden in the front of the house last July..and sure enough there it was.

That's something ain't it? I can pull up street view on my BIL's house in a little cross roads town in Sweden that doesn't even have a store, but I can't go half a block off main street in a small town in Michigan to get a picture of a business.
All I wanted was a picture of an old store that's still open. I was going to use the snipping tool to get a picture. Guess I'll just have to take the camera with me next time I'm over that way.

I use Google Maps. It's a road map, or a satellite picture. There's a bunch of words along the bottom, the one I recognize it the USDA/FSA. The image is from mid July,2015
No street views here. But I was recently looking at the little town in PA mostly abandoned because of the underground coal fire, and there's bunch of street views there.

It says "Street View not available" for that address. The blue line is where the street view goes on all the sites I've tried. The pin is the location I'm trying to get a picture of. Like I said, they must have all been shot from the Google Earth car and used by all sites,no matter what that site is.

I see. But no,it was a lodge that wasn't assessed, but that I knew was there. She was on a site that she had to use a password to enter, then she was able to pan down to about a 45 degree angle and zoom right in on it. Apparently it's a site that's only available to government employees. SURPRISE!

I just wanted a picture. JWondergem posted an old picture of an Oliver dealer in Canada that,at first glance looked like Hofferbert's. Go to the Oliver forum and take a quick look yourself. It looks like a view from the north looking down the line of stuff in front of the shop.

anyone ever look up a town on google .. you can look at marine traffic and airline traffic by cliking on the coordinates on the right scrolling down to get topography maps , boats on rivers and oceans , and planes ,, the identities and flight plan and time are also listed ,.. since Louisville airport is nearby ,, I will hear the plane fly over as I see it on the map .. they claim that at any given time during the day 1 million people are in the air,,. truly evident by expanding the view .. mind boggling for fuel consumption and air pollution...

Ya,I wanted to post the picture for comparison. It's like a parallel universe. lol

Google street view has never been down my road, in fact they only did half of the town that has the local post office. I've seen updated satellite views of our place but still no street view.
