light grease

I'm fixing a lawn sweeper I found at an estate sale. Hopefully it will sweep up sticks from the last wind storm and gum balls. We'll see.

Anyway, before I can try it I need to fix the ratcheting pawls inside the wheel gear boxes. They were like glued in place with the remains of old grease so it lacked the ability for one wheel to run faster than the other and allow for turns. The Sears manual says lube with light grease. Would normal general purpose chassis grease be considered light? That's all I have. If that's not light then what specifically am I looking for? Thanks!

The first thing that comes to mind is what I think they call 00 grease. It's a bottle that they use in the old Snapper rider chaincases. I've used gun grease thinned with a little ATF, too.
