New, to me combine

An old guy in the neighborhood farmed 50 acres and grew 20 acres of soybeans every year. He retired after last falls harvest. He stopped at my place and asked if I'd be interested in his JD 45EB combine. He bought it new in 1969 ,has 1914 hours, cab, heat, PS, chopper, pickup reel. He said a couple dealers told him to junk it, but he didn't want to do that. So, i drove it home yesterday. Don't know what I'm going to do with it , but it looks way to good to me to junk.

Nice find. Looks super clean and straight. I wish somebody's do that with me with a Gleaner. The old Oliver still runs, but I'd like to keep it that way and wear out something else.

Well that's nice. You got somewhere indoors to put it? Combines and outdoors...not a good combine-ation. Especially if you use it. I like old Gleaners too. Nothing in the budget this year, though...I need other stuff more.

If you don't want to keep it, there is someone, somewhere that really wants that machine. You might be able to work up a trade for something that you want rather than cash money changing hands.

Advertise it far and wide; someone, somewhere, wants that machine.

Nope,i paid him for it. He actually sold it to a local jocky and he backed out,so he sold it to me. Someone asked where I'm at, I'm in west central ohio.

Dealers said to junk it because they don't sell parts anymore and everyone knows only new equipment works anyway. And they use more parts.
