I have a 1953 Super A and the Hydraulic are not working..
to start with it was working off and on the we changed the pump put tractor supply 303 fluid in it, went up and down a few time then stopped completely so I got a repair kit for the touch control and rebuilt it, put it back on put the same kind of fluid back in it. everything looked good before I put it back.. it worked for a little while then i had to add more fluid and when I started it back up it would not work... really need some help with this Thanks

Is the gear slipping on the shaft at the front cover? I have seen them shear a Key and spin. Or they loose prime. Put 5 to 10 psi (only) in the reservoir to push fluid into the pump. Jim Jim

We changed pumps so I'm sure it's not the gear.. and we put air pressure in but still didn't work..
 
Put the nose of the tractor in a ditch (carefully) then with pressure on the res. Work the controls back and forth till it takes off and works. You are positive the gear cannot be spinning on the shaft! Jim

Hey Jim what you said got me thinking, so instead of pulling it in a ditch i put a jack on the back lift and it started working..
It was all the way down so i think it needed a little start..the spring on the long bar going to the lift is missing, and somebody welded it solid. so there wasn't anything to start it back up.
It probably wouldn't have mattered if the fluid wasn't changed..

Anyway thank you so much for your help it really helped me.
