I have always used Round herbicide to kill my weeds. I found a product called Ranger Herbicide. Anyone tried Ranger to kill weeds? If so how does it compare to Roundup? Stan

(quoted from post at 03:36:43 02/08/16) Looks like Ranger is simply generic glyphosate/"Roundup".
Yep, got to be at least a dozen of those generics out there.........just look for 41% on label.

While looking for 41% Glyphosate on the label will tell you it is just generic roundup; I also like to notice if it already has surfactants added to the mix. Some do some don't.
Looks like Ranger does not so you will have the added cost of adding surfactants to the mix.

We used to do spring yard work for an elderly lady who is now late. She would follow whoever was weeding around and spray the bare ground with Roundup after the weeds were pulled out and say "That won't come back". She would also spray the weeder by mistake sometimes.

Sigh, that would be funny if it weren't the way folks look at herbicides, silly to be spraying glyphosate on bare ground but what can you do?

Glyphosate comes in different strengths and comes with none, some, or a lot of surfactants stuff premixed in. Have to check that you are comparing the same stuff when comparing prices, and that you end up with the surfactant package you need possibly by adding some of your own to what you buy.

The added stuff has to do with how the herbicide sticks to and absorbs into the weeds.

If I buy 2 1/2 gal concentrate round up from amazon it is around 75.00, Ranger is 55.00 from amazon for 2 1/2 gal. My local store is 89.99 for 1 1/2 gal Round Up concentrate. Stan
