Which bread is perfectly toasted ?

I lean towards number 15

#11, but only if it's whole wheat! And we have found the best bread at WinCo here in AZ, sure wish we had one in MN!

I will second the 11 and wheat bread also. We found a mom & pop bakery in Dassel Mn. that has the BEST tasting wheat bread we have found in a long time. Also super apple fritters!!

I believe I prefer #12 however the last three toasters we've had toast like #3 on it's lowest setting.

A lot of times my toast looks like #1, because it's rye bread to begin with. Makes it hard to tell how well done it is.

ooooooooooh....number 10..........with real butter, an egg over easy fried in bacon grease on top with a slice of melted cheeze...............some crispy bacon on the side with hash browns or american fries...................just dreaming..............cardiologist lets me have oatmeal....yuk!!!

12 on 12 grain bread or 15 on 15 grain bread with butter. In NW AL. it is usually Arnold's brand.

Number one looks like a roofing shingle. That is the one your mom would take a butter knife and scrape the burnt part off and say eat it.

SOOO, was the toasting done by holding the bread over the muffler of a tractor???? The first pic suggestes that it was held over an older NA diesel. The last over a propane fueled tractor. Just keeping this thread tractor related. HeHe.

I agree loren ,,.seems that current events and political talk gets castarated before it can ever take seed here ,,,. a big nO NO, although it is winter and it truly is fun to share all sorts of topics and learn from others triumphs and mistakes and share ideas .IMHO lately Tractor Talk has become EVEN MORE Genteal .... starting to wonder if the real farmers don't have time to come here and visit and are out working trying to stay in business in these low commodity woes .... lets stay with the meat and taters ,,fellas ,.. .. btw ,, my toast is extreme lower rite

#11 for me- on Open Hearth 5 seed bread, please. I cut off one edge (about an inch) and put jam on that strip, and an OE egg on the rest.
BTW, toaster we got for a wedding present still going strong. We celebrate 45 years next Thursday.

I will go along with all of you on the wheat bread. My favorite is Aunt Millies and toasted like #11. My dad just wanted his warm and white. I don't understand those that tear off the crust on bread or pies. That is the best part. We were tought to clean our plate.

#14 or #11. Whole wheat 7 grain bread. I don't care for white bread at all. I usually eat breakfast before leaving the house. I start with black coffee at about 4 am and eat breakfast about 5 am.

Why ruin bread by toasting it! I would only want it warm enough to melt the butter! I agree with my wife's great uncle, may they both rest in peace, bread is only good for carrying the good stuff to your mouth!
