Bucket cylinder repair update

Here's what I did I could not find a stick welder so I ran a mig set good and hot I had a hard time becuase I was having to stop and start the bead while I turned the rod so far it's held up to several days moving ton bales and moving frozen banks of snow

They say if it's done right mig is as good as stick welding.We do both on the railroad and they hold up about the same.I prefer stick because it's a little more precise .
 
As long as you v'd it all the way so you got a full penetration weld you should be ok. That would be one of the places I would have used 7018 tod, but I think you should be ok.
