rrlund. Add one dollar, or more to those prices then you see what we California suckers are paying. Still not as high gas in death valley California. at 5.56. So I guess I shouldn't complain. Stan

(quoted from post at 18:48:11 01/23/16) Half of that 1.99 is taxes.

69 cents actually as of the last time I looked...yesterday. We're still up around $2.16-20 up here in the North Country. That's still about 40-45 cents cheaper than I ever thought I'd live to see it again, so it's all gravy to me.

That's pretty good for out that way right, heck in my town it's $2.07, this was in Rotterdam.

Bruce, years ago my brother and his friends, could ride from here to Canada on snowmobiles, I asked my brother tonight were they went but he hasent answered yet, I can't remember. I remember he said gas was sold by the liter, I think at the time it was like $4.00 a gallon, don't quote me,, just wondering, do you have sales tax, property tax, income tax, school tax, employee with holding tax, up there? Just curios to how much different things are up there as to here.

your premium is lower than our regular in nm at least in my part of it, i use the premium gas for small engins it does make a difference otherwise our cars and trucks all 9 of em get the regular gas tractors too

They have a completely different taxation system in Canada than we do here. Trying to compare our prices to theirs is difficult. (For instance, many Canadians say health care there is "free", and it certainly isn't anything even remotely like "free".) Add in our currency values differ greatly now...makes it harder to judge. Just remember, the world price of crude is pretty stable between nations across the world. Shipping adds to costs as does having or not having refineries and a distribution system, but after that it's basically national/state policies that drive up costs.
