O.T. What I saw

Can't believe what I saw at work yesterday. On the other side of our fence is a groundhog hole and the groundhog was out standing by his hole. I thought they would be hibernating now but evidently not. He was fat and furry...Maybe he can't sleep...LOL

There's a fresh burrow for something in the ditch of the town road about a week and a half ago. It's black dirt sticks out in the last snow. I haven't checked it out. With the two recent sub zero cold snaps we've had I'm only doing necessary outside tasks. Well, I guess in this case that critter deemed digging through the frost for a new home necessary. It looks like our weather will temper a little going into February so it's anybody's guess what the Groundhog's Day prediction will be. I've seen the Coons and the Woodchucks come out early in milder winters like this. It seems contradictory that I would speak of mild and sub zero in the same paragraph, but Mn. has had a fairly easy time. Our Nov. and Dec. weather was warmer than normal and Jan has only given us a handful of sub zero days. In Mn. that's mild. Think back on these forums and realize that it's only been two weeks since we haven't seen something about global warming.

No. Saw is the past tense of see, seen is the past participle of verb see. Seen is not a stand alone verb. If he had said,
"What I have seen..." that would be correct or if he had said,"I can't believe what I have seen..." that would be correct but that
would be past perfect. Seen is similar in tense to the verb eaten. He would not have said, "I can't believe what I eaten..." but
he could have said, "I can't believe what I have eaten..."

thats cute ,,, some of us got to much time rite now ,, so we just as well improve our literary skills ,, as for the ground hogg ,, he must be a grandady like me ,,, I am lucky if I only get up once to take a whiz all nite ..
