The good book

My bil retired a few years ago after working for Kraft foods for 45 years. He grew up a farm boy and inherited his Dads two old WC Allis. He just loves driving tractor. So for the last few years he has been doing all my tillage work. He refuses to take any pay so I give him little tokens of appreciation (fresh eggs from my chickens, gas card for to and from, pig for butchering) I know it is only a fraction of what he is worth to me. I told you that so I can tell you this. I want to get him a book on history of Allis Chalmers. What is the best book out there that would be a good read for him??

Can't help you, but your title made me think you were talking about the bible! Iv heard it called that before, I can't tell you what I call it!

This one is really good. Has the history and development of each item. It includes equipment as well. Anything and everything AC ever made!

If you want to go with humor any of the Roger Welsch books. I have several, paperbacks are not too expensive. Roger restores(?)/ works on Allis "C's"and gives out tips on how to or not to do it. The inside cover on one book reads "A case study in tractor restoration day by day, mistake by mistake, disaster by disaster, scar by scar." Some good reading with lots of advice ,like never park all of your tractors in a row as the wife will realize how many you have.
Think I just might reread some this winter. joe
