present for grandchildren

I built this for our three grandchildren. If shipping weren't so expensive it would probably have a motor and hydraulics! Built it out of locust and put bearings and bushings on high wear points. it should last the three of them! of course I had to try it out!

When I was a kid I had one of the metal sit on diggers as we called it, wore all the rivets that were the pivot points and had to replace with bolts. Eventually the bucket even wore thru! They were a fun toy, my friends young son loves playing with it nowadays when he comes over. I recently bought a burned mini excavator and rebuilt it. My father was running it a bit and remarked that it was like the sit on digger come full circle!

Wow! That is really cool! Great job too. My 3 grandsons would love to have that as well. I know they would definitely fight over who gets to dig with for sure, LOL. I have a digger that is similar with only the shovel part that needs a seat of some sort put on it. I need to build a sandbox too so grandpa can play too. :)

Those are great for kids to play with. My kids had a metal one that was factory built. They dug the yard all up. LOL The older grand kids finished it off. I have not seen them for sale lately.

I think yours looks great. They will love it!!!!

Great gift of your time and genius!. They'll put it to the test. I'm sure it comes with a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer.

My dad built one like that but not as pretty for my kids. They used it a lot and now it's waiting for grandkids!
