JD 3380 Swather Good and Bad

Looking at a pretty nice John Deere 3380 swather. 14' cut. Very nice condition always shedded and less than 1500 hours. Can anyone tell me if this is a good overall swather?
Also looking at a 2270 which is considerably cheaper but also nice. Is this machine somewhat on the light end of swathers? Thanks in advance - Bob

Gas or diesel, which header? I have had two JD swathers and both were heavy duty machines that gave very little problems, they cut excellent in all grass including Sudan grass 6 foot high. Even though they are good machines and parts are readily available I would not pay too much because most areas there is not much resale value. I bought one of mine in Missouri and one in Kansas and they had both been for sale for quite a while, the last one was 3500 dollars.

It is a diesel with a 14' twin knife head. The header is a 300A Twin Knife.

Also, the swather is a 3430. Not sure where I came up with 3380. Here is a couple of pictures

The 300 A is a good header, thats a good looking machine but I still would not pay over 5000.

My opinion is that the 3430 is a far better machine than the 2270, and then 300a head is twice the head as a 230 or 240 that will be on the 2270. With 1500 hrs that 3430 could bring significantly more than $5000 in central WY.
