Hi I am reassembling an 1981 Ford 4600 engine and i am up to putting the head on and am not sure where i could find the torque settings for the head bolts, the rocker bolts and , i basically need the torque settings for a ford 4600, could anyone know where i could find the settings for free? or where could i find it? thanks.

I never understood why some people are too parsimonious to buy a manual. They are only $30 or so.
Head bolts are torqued in 3 successive stages.
55
85
115 final.
Start in the center and work outwards in an eliptical pattern.

well , yea , i know, i would to but my family is kind of poor. but ok thanks, is that for every head bolt on the head?

I don't have my book in front of me right now but I think those numbers are a bit proud.... Seems to me that 1/2" bolts wanted about 105 ft-lb final torque and your numbers may be correct for 9/16" bolts. So jut beware of the distinction between the two.... On the 1/2" bolts I usually start at 75, then 90 then 110 even though it says 105...
I also retorque them after a heat cycle.

I think the 9/16" bolts came out on the 10 Series. 4600 still had 1/2".
Those numbers are from the I&T FO-31 manual (3000, 4000).
I couldn't find my FO-41 (3600, 4600).
But I know they are the same.

I suspect those values are incorrect.... they are, I know for certain incorrect in terms of 10 series engines with 1/2" bolts as the max on them was 105... It would not be unusual for an I&T book to be incorrect either...
Regardless, I'm not saying I wouldn't go that high but I would be very careful if I thought the thread was about to yield...
