2011 and Newer Kia Sorento Good?

Thinking about replacing the 06 Grand Cherokee in the not so distant future. Been a fantastic vehicle, just getting a lot of miles. What
do folks think of a used Sorento? Looking at V6 with the new body. Haven't test drove one yet, but I'm hoping they aren't all cheap and
tinny like some other imports I've been in.

The Korean cars around the Northeast that I see don't hold up very well to the salt on the roads (they rust sooner than they should and faster than their Japanese, European, and American competition). They seem to be pretty fair mechanically, though. Driven a few and they are nice when new.

The 3.5-3.8 litre Lambda has been around since about 2006. The cam chain tensioners and guides can wear out . If you don't recognize the symptoms you will have bigger problems going forward. It is an interference engine so if you do have problems it gets expensive. Do some research on that engine and how easy it is to service the timing chain and components.

My niece had grand Cherokees and they were gas hog money pits ? I see Kia Souls everywhere don't really know anyone who owns a Kia.
Now I can HIGHLY recommend a Honda CRV. Our family has a lot of them. All been good vehicles. Good on gas too. I hope the HRV are as good as we now have 2 in the family fleet.

Wife's friend had a Kia a few years back. If anything could go wrong it did. And every time it went back to the dealer, she got taken again. (More than one dealer.) Now, granted, she wasn't the brightest, but her experience sure soured us on Kia. The car was junk from the get-go.
