denim chore jacket, unlined

Plain old denim jackets are getting hard to find. The younger fellows all want Carhartt this and that so many of the stores have switched completely over to Carhartt for they work cloths. I am like you I always liked a plain denim jacket to wear when it is cool out but not cold and also in the shop to protect my shirts. I can not find the plain denim jackets around here so I have switched to cotton uniform jackets. I have my local JD dealer order me some when they order the ones for the shop guys. To make it even harder I do not like buttons so I want a zipper. I have not found Denim zippered jackets even on line.

Tom I just looked at one of my old ones. It is Big Ben brand. I do not think that they are in business any longer. Wrangler and Dickies show them in there on line catalogue.

I've tried some of the places mentioned; to no avail. I will check out some of the others mentioned!

I've now checked them all to no avail. either sold out, size not available or not even close to what i'm looking for. I want one big enuff to wear over a sweat shirt if need be and still work for wearing in the shop. Its been years since i had one, the last brand i remember was 'big smith'!

The last ones I found were either Orschelens or Tractor Supply. But it's the wrong time of year for unlined denim jackets. They order those in for the spring season. I'd suggest looking on Amazon. Wrangler will probably be your best bet. Levi makes them but they are pretty pricey. Carhartt used to make them in brown duck but I think they quit. I were what they call the "western" jacket. A "chore" jacket is longer like a half-length coat. Is that what you want?

I got one from Gemplers years back. Just put a real good rip in it the other day. Time for a new one. Gemplers doesn't carry them anymore!

(quoted from post at 15:34:32 11/24/15) Found one at amazon.
amazon
thanks everyone! I've searched till i was 'blue in the face' I guess i'm too picky! none fit what i want. google is a good friend, just not friendly enuff!

I have a used one I was going to sell on eBay. Don't know what size you want. This is a vintage 1970s jacket in good condition. I bought it for a speed shop patch that was on it.

if the size runs true; a 3x or even preferably a 3x tall. buttons and pockets for gloves. i like them to be long enuff, which means to the crotch area or longer. unlined. i told you i was picky!

Tom, I was just on a website to order some work shirts, and remembered seeing this post. You might try the Working Persons Store. There are some good specials going on
now too. I have been buying Red Kap work shirts from them for I don't know how long. There are several of those websites that cater to working wear.
