I cleaned the fittings up on the plumbing work yesterday, it appears that lacquer thinner fumes will set off a propane leak detector.

I think it is the MEK.

The right concentration of that stuff in the air will cause a flash fire too. Good thing you had that alarm to warn you of the danger.

Doing construction we find plenty of things that set off alarms. On one rush job the alarm company armed the system even though everyone was working late into the night. The guy doing the carpet got so fed up with the alarm going off he finally opened the box and cut wires until it stopped.
