Local Christmas Parade

Loaded up The Boys and pulled a carriage in the local Christmas Parade. Sorta starts the Holiday Season. It was a cool 28?F when we started here in Central Ks, but didn't get much colder. Had my Brother and his Wife in the back with their Daughter and Grandkids. My Wife up front with me and the neighbor girls and her boyfriend were also in the back. This was the first time I had ever done a night parade but The Boys did fine. There were a lot of flashing lights and sirens. Just glad to have lived through it...lol!

Awwwa that is really nice. Some of the old times were batter! Glad no body complained about no heater or had to go to the bathroom? They used to put hot bricks on the floor of the wagon or sled. FUN!

WOW! "Christmas" parades now happen the week before Thanksgiving???

What do you folks celebrate a week or two before Christmas, the Forth of July???

Gosh that's a real nice looking rig and team. Good for you and everyone that attended.

I usually wait until 11:00 AM on Christmas Eve to start my shopping. It's been my tradition for decades, and makes it more sporting. Challenges keep people from getting bored. At that time on that day is when women whom have finished their shopping weeks or months before, have their presents wrapped, are in stores buying last minute items like candles for the dinner table, things like that, things get interesting. And when they do, every year they encounter me standing in the middle of aisles making out my Christmas list, writing down names of people that I need to buy for before I even start looking at items that they might like. By the time that I finish my shopping and make it to the truck with gifts, I'm usually beat up from being clobbered by purses for accidentally tripping people as I walk backwards into them to get a better look at an item someone may not need, but will get from me for Christmas just the same. I get home cut and bruised, shirt torn and half ripped off, hair messed up and missing my shoes. All in all, if I don't get home Christmas Eve night looking as though I was mugged by a group of gangbangers, then my Christmas shopping experience wasn't successful. BUT THIS YEAR, I started my Christmas shopping before Halloween and as unfortunate as it is, I may not have offended or angered anyone...yet, but 'tis getting to be the season.

The grid overhead is a crosswalk cover. Just a pretty really. The Parade is called The Parade of Lights. It's not really a Christmas Parade but more like a parade into the Holiday Seasons. Here is another waiting to take off. Bob
