NEED ADVICE ON HYD. PUMP

I am looking for a hyd. pump off of a old piece of machinery. I need one that will put out at least 11 GPM. I will want to be able to have it run off of a PTO on a tractor. I have no problem building a bracket to make it secure and I also know I will have to have a separate HYD. tank. What I need to know is when I go to a salvage yard what different machines will have a pump that I can use? Thanks in Advance.

Well if you are running it directly off of a common 540 RPM PTO shaft think again! Most gear pumps are not very efficient below 1000 RPM. What pressure do you need to go with that flow and is that theoretic output(how pumps are rated) or actual flow in a bucket at working pressure? You would be better off with one of the PTO pumps that use the step up gearbox.

Have no idea where you are located but have several pumps that are designed to be pto operated. Some just slide over the pto others are shaft drive. Would be price about as cheap as you are going to pay for a used one you know nothing about. E mail open.

Well there are two hydraulic pumps that come to mind that are used on farm equipment and are 540 PTO driven.

1)The first would be the hydraulic pump used on IH cyclone corn planters. Not sure of the flow but I bet that it is over 100 GPM as they chose them over using the tractor's hydraulic system.

2) The hydraulic pump/drive system off any hydro swing mower conditioner. These are PTO mounted and would have more than 11 GPM. There are serveral brands that all used these. New Holland and Hesston are the first that come to mind.

JD GN Mo-Co's also had a hyd pump that would suit your needs. Yrs back I operated a Vermeer R23 rake with a pto hyd pump that I purchased at Tractor Supply.

New Holland stackhands had a little pump on them and junking one out wouldn't be a bad thing in my book, if you need high output, I think all center pivot haybines used the same pto pump some 540 others 1000. I have a pump off a gehl haybine you can have, the splines are stipped, it was working on the haybine, i just had a hard time taking it off! I am in sw wi! I opened my email if you are interested!
