See Anything You Want?

Well, we talked about it, and he hmmm'ed and haaaa'ed and said thank you for the offer, but he decided that he wants to hold out for a 40. Which, I suppose is fair because he REALLY wants a 40, and this is an M!

He was very appreciative of the offer, and is still going to get my Case VAC parts machine, which he plans to make good use out of! ;)

I could use the MM RTU (I need engine parts for one I have) but Idaho is a long way from NY.

Thinking about investing in the gold and diamond market a bit are we, eh? (hint hint)
Good luck, some neat stuff there.

Hey! you have it backwards! The bride is the one who is supposed to sell excess stuff in order to have the dowry.

100%. He could have just as easily said "Oh ya! I would LOVE it, then sold it in two years"... He is a good guy, just like myself. We will be friends for life I am sure! ;)

It honestly DOES run pretty good, but not great! It sputters and pops once in a while, etc. The biggest issue is the points, as in, it doesn't HAVE any!!! It has the little metal piece that holds the "points", but thats it?!

Priorities.

I am a person that HATES seeing things be wasted. I bought all of this stuff because the price was right, or I thought I wanted it, or for nothing else, JUST to save it from being crushed.

Lately I have been looking around, and I have finally decided that it is time to make my move. It is a buyers market, and I want a newer Chevrolet with a Duramax Diesel in it. Has been my dream truck since they first came out, and 12 years later, I think it is time I own one!!

I am just going to continue on buying and selling equipment, trucks, and tires, making a little here and there. But instead of adding to my collection, I am going to save the cash.

My goal is $7000, then when I reach that point, I will sell my truck (for $4000 I hope) and then I will be in the honey! :) May take awhile, but that is why they are call "Goals" right!?! ;)

You'll end up in the same boat as me. Wishing I had all the tractors back that I've had over the years. There came a point where I said I'd never get rid of another one,but I've sold or traded some since then. lol

so why wouldn't one replace points/condenser and have it running great? $25 and 1/2hr time could equal 20 more buyers and $300- $ 400 more. Frankly , Bryce , when I see something advertised this way, I figure the guy already knows it has more wrong than stated or he would have fixed it and got the added dollar and more buyers. Just like the guy who had a very nice appearing 3010 with new manifold , carb and starter but because of a rotted off muffler got water in and is now stuck. Tractor is soaking in secret potion as ad says. $2800,almost new tires and complete 3 pt. Says no one has tried to break it loose! BBbb-SSSsss! Tractor would bring $4000 running. And he says no one has even tried ??? Was born at night ,but not last night.

I got a 30 YO nephew who started farming with his dad about 5 or 6 years ago. He was dying to get a diesel pickup and finally did about 4 years ago. Now he regrets it. Not that it's been a bad truck but there are other things like another tractor that they could have used a lot more. Things that would have made life better or made money. I know you are going to say that you can make money hauling stuff with a truck but you are not 18 yet so you don't want to get caught hauling for hire. Plus you have to let your insurance company know what you are doing so that you have adequate coverage. Plus fuel, wear and tear and depreciation all have to be factored in. Nothing across state lines for hire without a UD DOT number. Not saying you can't do it but if you get caught breaking the law it gets expensive quick.

I have to agree, I see and ad that claims "runs good" then says needs some work I wonder what else the seller is lying about. Like "runs great, needs a clutch". Just saw an ad that said that. How do you know it runs great through all ranges if you can't drive/operate it because of the clutch? So spend 50 bucks and put a carb kit and points in that thing. Don't know about there but here a good running M with good rubber and ALL the sheet tin is a 8-900 buck tractor. Has to be something real nice to bring more. So you may be shooting a little high on your prices. An old stuck Case is scrap value here.

Bryce you really need to put this over in the add's under market place. That is where it really should be.

If you can barely afford a newish diesel truck, don't buy one. When it breaks down you will have a very expensive but nearly worthless lump of metal. It only does one thing reliably well and that is depreciate. If you absolutely need one and have a business plan to support paying for one, sure, but you need a heck of a lot of work to make it work out and pay for the eventual replacement.

Darn it, just spent 20 days helping my brother move from the portland area to Bonners Ferry, went past you 4 times with empty trailers, just my luck.
He did give me a Case VAC for helping, could have used that sickle mower, oh well

That makes absolutely no sense.

How can it run without points? Unless it has an electronic conversion but it doesn't sound like it to me.
