What do we think a non running 14 hp Yanmar 3 cyl diesel tractor is worth? It appears complete. I do not know year or model yet.

Thanks

i wouldnt give much for it, i bought a 22 hp model a few months ago with low hours running great and had a loader and backhoe on it for 5500 it was a "green" one but still its a yanmar, the problem with yours is you dont know what its going to take to make it run and when it does run what kind of shape the units in mechanically, some older yanmar parts can be a challenge to find, if the tires are decent on it offer something like 500 and see where it goes,

Need the model info to even hazard a guess. HP is often inaccurate whe discussing them. Grey models don't have an advertised rating as they were rated in KW originally. US models do have a HP rating though. The only 'official' 14HP that I know of is a little garden tractor, not all like the other Yanmars.

Hi
To be honest i wouldn't want it if it don't run. at $500 with good tires you'd loose money getting out if it wasn't any good. Scrap price is low on a tractor that weighs nothing. The used tires probably aren't worth $500 either for something like that. you might get lucky and have a good used part somebody wants. Usually most tractors guys want the same used part that's expensive and they all did the same thing when trying to find used, unless it burned or something else went first .
I seem to think some parts will be hugely expensive new to if available as they are with most things now. Some of those Yanmars are I believe sold by JD like the 110 tractor backhoe and I have heard parts are cheaper by a bit from them, versus from a yanmar dealer if they cross over. If a guy could put a battery on it and get it running id pay a bit more for it, if the drive lines and stuffs good. If not just finding something running for a bit more money could be a lot cheaper in the long run. I used to buy and fix tractors for re sale, Parts prices killed it in the end as one part could be worth as much as the tractor if you got unlucky.
Regards Robert

Non Runnin ,, is the biggest ISSUE ,,. why ,and what is wrong makes a big difference in value,, you mite pay 750-3750 depending on its history and ailments and of COURSE the TRUST FACTOR that the seller is giving you .example ,,. a non runnin tractor from a estate sale that has new parts , receipts and is a rebuild in progrees in a clean orderly shop in my mind would be worth more than one in a fence row.. imho ,.. I have a grey market 1986 yanmar 2220 that I paid 7500 for with a new koyker loader , I thought it was worth it ,, but it just lookt like a good deal .., it developed engine troubles early on caused by a stopped up junk radiator that blew the head gasket , was apart 4 yrs before I paid someone to get it running , got another 2 grand overhaul in it now . I think the injector pump governor seems to not be paying attention when it should ,,. and that will be worked over thru the winter .I am not overly concerned about being upsidedown on this tractor . I will get my pound of flesh out of it . I guess because my dad fought in the pacific in WW2 ,, I treat it like a red headed step child,,. but it really is a decent tractor ...

forgot to mention ,,. parts come here 3 days after I order from frederiks import tractor in Alabama,, decent prices ,exhaust manifold ,130 bux. worst was a yuppi voltage regulator for 90 bux
