FIXED IT!!!!

Had to go out tonight and try it again. Venturi tube upside down!!!! I put it in backwards a long time ago and now it's fixed! Fired right up and ran super! Yay! Thank you to all who replied and special thanks to cuby for posting.

I just had one of those in the last 30 minutes. I've been fighting my chore pickup for the last month. Maybe it's fuel. Maybe it needs plugs. I had never noticed the vacuum line that had come off. Whew, thank goodness that's fixed!

I bought a 641 ford for $200 because they could not get it running.Took me a few days but I realize the venture was upside down. Runs perfect now!

Just for my own knowledge, what are/were the symptoms of an upside-down venturi? I haven't ever run across one (I don't think so anyway), and it's nice to know so that in case I do in the future, I'll look at that more in depth. And, I don't feel like taking apart one of my good carbs and flipping over the venturi to see how it runs lol. Especially if someone else has already done the experimenting for me lol.

I was going to suggest the venturi in upside down but when I read the replies last night I saw that someone else had already done so. Very few carburetors will allow you to put it in upside down but Marvel's will on some. Also, it good when the fix comes in with a report as so many you never hear anything one way or another.
