Recently I serviced my little 1600 Ford and needed an oil filter. Surprisingly NAPA didn't have one, so went to a local Ford/New Holland dealer, the only one for miles around I might add. They had one for the price of $20.29! Now that little Ford has a little 25hp 2 cyl Diesel and the filter is about 2 1/5 by 5 inches. When I expressed surprise at the price, the parts man kind of smirked and said " There are a lot of filters that cost around $100." I needed the filter so paid and left, feeling not a little outraged. Am I out of touch on the price of filters? I can't help feeling I got robbed.
 
You could probably "Googled" the filter number and found a crossover number and bought one at a TCS or something similar for a lot less money.
 
Pretty sure you did get robbed. Your NAPA could have ordered the filter,had it the next day. That (Ford)filter was probably made by WIX,or Baldwin...NAPA filters are WIX.

You went to a dealer, you are [b:904fccdeaa]supposed[/b:904fccdeaa] to feel robbed.

If you google "Ford 1600 oil filter" you will find places listing it as a Fram PH2825. Knowing that, you can cross reference that to a good filter. If not on the shelf, a good parts store (apparently not your local NAPA) can have a filter for you the next day. Car Quest, Auto Zone, Orilies: any of those will get you a filter by tomorrow.
 
You got robbed. Not by the Ford dealer but by the idiot at the Napa store.
He could have ordered this filter and had it overnight if not sooner.

You need FIL 1034. My local Napa store has it in stock for $5.49
