Taking a group of FFA members to the National Convention. I'm trying to find tours in the Danville IL area (or along the route from Janesville WI towards Indianapolis route 39 south to I 74 East). We have other tours lined up for the rest of the trip but I could fit in one or two still in this region.
Would like the kids to see things that will help them to either expand their idea of what agriculture is, or their understanding of entrepreneurship/business. We are already seeing a packing plant, soap maker, and barge loading facility.
To keep this tractor related, this particular bunch isn't really mechanically oriented so manufacturing tours for equipment is probably not what we are looking for this year.

Thanks for the suggestions.

It is just off 65, Fair Oaks Farms Adventure Center - America's Heartland

Also you will be going through seed compamy country, might find a tour.

There are SO many opportunities, farming, selling machinery, research, food research, retail, growing exotic berries, buying / selling produce, designing facilities, TV, .. endless opportunities.

I agree, but finding the contact info for one that is on the route isn't as easy as you might think. Generally I pick a town and contact the chamber of commerce for ideas/contacts.
