I am looking at a 1967 model 123 Cub Cadet garden tractor and the asking price is $700 and an additional $150 for a 36" plow. It is in good condition and from what I know needs no work. Is this a good price or am I being cheated?

Vary's vastly by region, but in my neck of the woods that's on the high side. Those cubs can be had here for 400-500. 36" plow seems a bit on the small side, as well.

I think $700 should buy the whole outfit, and that might be high.[/quote]

Agree, that's a bit high, more like $400-500 seems right.

That is very high. Small 36" plows in southern PA area are going for $75-100. Lots of Cub Cadet 1811's (18hp) around here going for $500 in good condition. Unless it is a well done restoration I would say $300-400.

Unless it is a show quality restoration, that is a $200-300 tractor and $100 or less blade. There are so many much more capable machines
that $700 would buy. I sold a 147 last summer with a deck and blade for $400 and had to sit on it. 14hp with power lift with down
pressure, much more Cub for the money than a 123.

They fetch a decent price around here.

This summer we watched a NON-running, rather cobbled up and dinged up 123 sell for
$350 dollars at auction. (Husband was bidding on it - but let 'er buck when it
started going so high.)

I sold a rough looking 125 with no seat, no deck, loose steering, but running for $300 last summer and the guy was glad to find it in NE Kansas. Said it was the first one he'd ever bought that drove itself on the trailer.
