Didn't take Randy's pledge not to work on Sunday, and went out and made the last bales Sunday afternoon. Total for the year 1342 .I know that don't sound like much to some but, if there were 12 small squares in each ... it would be some stack. Glad to be done ,still have to pick up some off the field. Ican haule 16 per load on the flat bed truck, so how man loads was that? too many to climb up on top of and strap down ,I can tell you that for sure ! Bruce

Baled up my last yesterday also......much smaller operation " Here ". All small squares....about 3500 of the idiot bricks. That,s about all the 72 year old operator can handle!!!! lol

I beat you by a day. I finished Saturday afternoon. 1304 rolls of hay that I counted, that didn't include several that I brought home without twine and fed up right away, just over 100 rolls of oat straw.
There's 88 in the field to move off yet,but I'll get'em eventually. It's getting tough to find a place to put them.
On to weaning calves and picking corn next.

I put about 3200 squares into the mow this summer, had help unloading one wagon load, did every other bale all by myself. Took the elevator down and buttoned up the barn door to make way for the grape harvesters. Just took a call from the neighbor- she wanted to know if I wanted to make the third cutting over at the big horse operation she manages- looks like 26 acres of pure alfalfa! Beautiful, but no room in the inn!

We finished yesterday as well. Been a rough year weather wise to say the least. We had to try out our new to us NH 273. Worked perfect, and a good way to end the year. Only a 100 rounds left to sell.

Looks like I finished up two weeks ago due to dry weather here in s.w. Pa. Two farms of third cut left standing because it is shoe-top tall (or shoe-top short). 10,000 squares in barns, 100 rounds. Might have to square-bale some of the rounds about January if a break in the winter weather. Haven't been done hay before November since Grant took Richmond. Will definitely run out this year as people are feeding now like winter time. Very dry here.
