Good morning, this is my first post and I appreciate any advice you gentleman can give me on a couple of super a that I am considering. It's limited info that I can give you since I haven't yet seen them, only pictures and I know you can't be tell a lot by pictures. That said, they don't look too bad in the pictures I've seen. The tin appears to look good on both, tires look to have good tread, was told they all hold air( don't know about weather cracks) They have been sitting for about a year, outside. The motor is stuck in one of them, the other one is free but the fellow selling them hasn't had it running. Supposedly they were both running when parked about a year ago.

I'm planning on seeing them this coming weekend and hopefully get one off them going.

My question is, what would be a reasonable price to pay for the pair, considering the engine is stuck in one, and the other one is not running at this point. As I said hopefully I can hear one of them run.

Thank you for your help.

In the current condition I would say $1000-2000 dependent on the sheet metal and tire condition when you see them in person.

Good running Super "A" will bring $1500 or so each so you would need to be at 1/3 to 1/2 running price at the most unless the tires are just cherry.

Sold this one two years ago here in Colo for $2200. Sad day but had to pay some bills.

I would only determine if you think you can get one started or not before negotiating a price. If they are being sold as non-running and you get one running before buying it, the asking price may increase or the seller may refuse to negotiate off the asking price because the value of the running tractor just doubled.

don't try to get the one running unless you have already bought it.
my neighbor went to look at a pair of jd 730 diesels one time. the woman who owned them said they started hard and he would need to buy 4 batteries each to make them run. he bought one, dragged it about 20' with his pickup, and it popped right off. he drove it home. the price on the other one went up $1000 when another neighbor went to buy it.
chances are, if they were running a year ago, even the one shouldn't be stuck too bad. offer $10-1200 (think $800 and $400) for the pair and see what happens.
