kinda 0T tractor for yt maybe, but sure looking for some input. my project is removing the inner tie rod from the p/s shaft. it is all wheel drive. this part screws into shaft, looks like two flats on shaft for back-up tool to hold shaft from turning-very thin tool required. anyone been there to know what size? may try to fab one/grind something down. thanks

I never had mine off on the 5105. My rubber boots are bad and you have to get the complete end to replace them. I bought some rescue tape. It really sticks to itself. I wrapped mine up with this and it seems to work. Hard to tell to.

We just changed the left front tie rod end on our 4320. Ours was loose enough we put a small cresant wrench on the rod the little flat spot and turned off the tie rod end. Be sure to measure from the backside of the nut to the center of the rod end to keep your proper toe in. John Deere parts are not cheap.

The tie rod end is loctited into the end of the power steering cylinder. You will need to warm the end of the shaft to soften the loctite.

thanks tech-7--exactly what I thought about Loctite---will have to be careful with heat on that polished shaft.. may try my electric heat gun first, but prob. no go. I bet with heat, the backup won't be that big a deal. get back to this project tomorrow-
