2006 chevy uplander

My abs motor runs with the ing switch off. Chevrolet garge is saying its best to replace the complete valve,instead of the module or the motor.I do like abs brakes but they want over a thousand dollars for the complete unit compared to 350 for the module.I would like to hear you sugestions.

For that much money, I would start looking at salvage yards. BUT, it seems to me that your dealer either is not able to diagnose properly or are simply playing CYA in case something else fails later. Either way, a thousand dollar repair is a LOT of money.

The motor power relay sticks. All sorts of places on the 'net that have rebuilt modules or will rebuild and return yours, $50 and up.

So WHY even consider spending $1000???

The ABS was malfunctioning on my 2001 Silverado. I disabled it. I like the truck a WHOLE lot better without ABS. On dry surfaces, it stops in a much shorter distance without ABS than it ever did with it.

Just pull the fuse and disable the ABS.

As a former Service Advisor for the American brands, and Assistant Store Manager at the parts store with the most awful jingle ever, your Uplander is nine years old. Take the fuse out and disable it. Use that money for something that will bring you and your family some fun! Be careful for a little while driving it until you are confident with the braking. Do something fun or buy something cool, and post pictures!
