My 2210 started running funny, so got a new fuel filter. I had to pry the old one out and it was really a mess, besides black junk in it , it had some white stuff, It looked like Kosher salt. I have never put new diesel in it without a filtered funnel. Does anyone have any ideas on what it is? I am having trouble getting the fuel to flow to the filter now, and I have drained all the fuel out and cleaned everything. Thanks for any help.

I have had trouble with crud in the valve for the shut off before the filter. You might want to check that, you may have to take it right off and apart.
I'm not familiar with your model but I know some of the newer ones don't have a manual shut off. So maybe you don't have one on yours. I believe its built in the filter assembly on some but I don't know for sure.

I do have a manual shut off and I took it off the tractor and cleaned it. I have another new filter that I will try today. I get a good fuel flow but when I use the tractor the fuel level falls in the filter. Thanks for the reply

Looks to me like you have an enemy who has poured something in your fuel tank. You might want to report the vandalism and get it tested to see what it is. At a minimum everything from the tank to the filter will have to come off and get cleaned or replaced and mabie upstream as well. It's going to get very expensive.

If its slimey.... its the dreaded fungus growing in your diesel fuel... buy a diesel biocide and treat the tank and especially the source of the fuel. Usually due to water contamination in fuel or even hydraulic oil.

Never seen anything like that, but if it was mine I'd taste a small piece. See if it was salty. Then i'd see if it dissolved in water. That'd tell you something.

No biodiesel fuel at all, I'm afraid its like what was said on here, someone out something in the fuel. I have drained the tank and
cleaned it, I have had the shutoff valve and filter housing off several times and it still seems to be not letting the fuel down.
Thanks to all that responded.
